Some industry events are about networking. This one was about showing up. From May 13 to 15, 2026, the home furnishings industry gathered at the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson, Arizona, for the annual ART Conference; the centerpiece of the week happened off-site.
The Accessories Resource Team (ART) selected Esperanza of Tucson as the beneficiary of its 2026 Community Service Project, the organization's eleventh service initiative in a conference host city. For more than 35 years, Esperanza has served homeless veterans and their families. Its 14-acre campus provides a pathway from crisis to stability through comprehensive housing and supportive services, backed by partnerships with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the City of Tucson.
Conference volunteers worked on-site to refresh existing living quarters and outdoor common areas. Industry companies were invited to donate furnishings to enhance apartments and replace damaged items. We didn't have to think twice about saying yes.
What We Donated
Sleep is where recovery happens; that's true for athletes, and it's just as true for a veteran moving from crisis into stable housing. So we sent the same performance bedding we'd recommend to anyone. Here's the full breakdown of what went to the Esperanza campus.
| Product | Size | Quantity |
|---|---|---|
| Cooling Multiposition Pillow | One Size | 114 |
| Dri-Tec® Sheet Set, White | Twin | 42 |
| Dri-Tec® Sheet Set, White | Queen | 15 |
The choices were intentional. Tucson summers are no joke, and moisture-wicking Dri-Tec® fabric keeps sleepers dry and cool through hot desert nights. The Cooling Multiposition Pillow adapts to back, side, and stomach sleepers alike; when you're outfitting housing for many different people, a pillow that works for every sleep position is the right call.
In total, 171 products went to the campus: 114 pillows and 57 sheet sets across Twin and Queen sizes. Enough to refresh beds across Esperanza's apartments and replace bedding that had seen better days.
An Industry Rolling Up Its Sleeves
The service project brought together a crowd you don't usually see on the same job site. Designers, retailers, manufacturers, market centers, vendors, and yes, even competitors, all worked side by side to decorate and furnish homes for Esperanza residents. Business rivalries got left at the door to make sure that everyone gets a good night's sleep.
"It's been a pleasure watching designers, retailers, manufacturers, competitors, market centers, and vendors all rolling up their sleeves, coming together as one unit to decorate as a team and put things together for these beautiful homes." ART Conference 2026 Service Project Volunteer
That spirit is exactly what ART was built for. As one volunteer put it, the industry works best when everyone helps each other across companies and responsibilities; all boats rise when we work together. The networking and business conversations happened naturally along the way, but the homes came first.
Why Giving Back Is Part of Who We Are
One moment from the recap video stuck with us. A volunteer shared why this project mattered personally, and it's a reminder that the line between giving help and needing it is thinner than most of us think.
"There was a time in my life as a young adult that I needed this kind of help, and people came to my rescue. So now it's my turn to give back." ART Conference 2026 Service Project Volunteer
That's the heart of it. Esperanza's mission is to honor those who served by helping them rebuild their lives with dignity and purpose. Our products live in the most personal space in any home: the bed. Contributing to that rebuilding process, one good night's sleep at a time, is a privilege we don't take lightly.
Better sleep fuels better days. For the veterans and families at Esperanza, those better days are the foundation of a fresh start; we're proud our bedding gets to play a small part in it.

The ART Conference 2026 Community Service Project Made a Lasting Impact
The ART Conference 2026 Community Service Project proved what this industry can do when it points its energy at something bigger than business. Refreshed apartments, revitalized outdoor spaces, and 171 BEDGEAR sleep products now serve the veterans and families calling Esperanza's campus home. That impact will outlast the conference by years.
Our thanks go to the ART Conference Committee for organizing its eleventh community service initiative, to every volunteer who showed up in Tucson, and to the Esperanza team for the work they do every single day.
