Returns, Exchanges & Cancellations
BEDGEAR® needs to be an advocate of what we do as a brand. And that’s what the customer needs. As a result, I want to expose the industry when it comes to mattress returns.
The mattress business functions by making the same product, the same way, and in the same factories but with different brands. But how can they all be different? Because many bedding manufacturers put their money in marketing, advertising — and above all it results in returns. Why the latter? The mattress industry claims 20%-30% of mattresses are returned because customers are either unsatisfied or feel there is a better product out there.
So, who pays for that? The environment pays for it through all the carbon we are throwing out and all the materials that go into a landfill. We are using natural resources to make the mattresses and then putting them back in a state that pollutes. Millions of mattresses are returned and due to certain regulations, they are not able to be donated to homeless shelters or non-profit organizations.
Who else is affected by it? You are!
Because you are paying to have the cheapest mattress possible — hunks of foam — built just like your kitchen sponge is made of; that’s what you are getting. Yet, most manufacturers want you to just throw away a mattress after 100 nights if you are not satisfied. What company can afford to dispose 20%-30% of what they make and still make money?
At BEDGEAR, we made a pledge we are going to change this!
We decided to make a mattress product that can be adjusted and can be serviced in a customer’s own home, so you are not throwing out an entire mattress in a landfill. We intentionally put money into the development of the mattress, not into marketing, not into advertising and not into returns. We do not want to develop mattresses that heat you up in bed because they are made of hunks of foam or petroleum. We believe there is a better way.
That’s why BEDGEAR has built a brand of Performance® bedding for more than a decade. This is the purpose of why we exist. Who is BEDGEAR? We don’t believe in throwing mattresses into a landfill. We do everything within our power to have the mattress recycled without adding enormous amount of cost and human interaction. We don’t believe in abusing natural resources. We don’t believe in being a marketing or advertising company. We believe in engineering a product — including both mattresses and pillows — that has a generous amount of airflow, has the ability to make sure your body can regulate its temperature, and is personally fit for you based on your body type and sleep position. We get the personalized fit right most of the time. And when we don’t, there is absolutely no need to throw the entire mattress into the landfill. Instead, after 21 nights, we direct ship to your door a better comfort fit solution. Our commitment to you is to make it right. That’s what it means to buy from BEDGEAR.
The reason we don’t require you to spend 100 nights figuring out if the new mattress has the right comfort for you because you are going to know within the first 21 nights. Unfortunately, many mattress providers are forcing you to wait 100 nights, making you uncomfortable and miserable.
BEDGEAR believes in being very clear upfront: We are not going to put a mattress in a box and make a “one size fits all” product. Our goal is to offer you a mattress selection that is based on your body type and sleep position and not being too hot or too cold. And we are going to do this in the most minimalistic way that reduces the carbon footprint. We humbly ask you to participate in BEDGEAR’s pledge.
Wake Up, World.
Eugene Alletto, CEO, and founder of BEDGEAR
Returns
BEDGEAR wants you to have 100% of the comfort and support you need to get a great night’s sleep so you can Wake Ready each day with our Performance® bedding products.
Because BEDGEAR is more than 10 years old, we are not some digital mattress startup that oversells on freebies. Instead, we focus on developing the most innovative products at the highest quality. Our dollars are solely spent on product development, not on insubstantial advertising campaigns and unnecessary freight costs.
BEDGEAR provides easy online tools and engaging in-store experiences to ensure shoppers find their personalized fit of cool-to-the-touch and moisture-wicking mattresses, mattress protectors, pillows, sheets, blankets, kids and baby bedding, and pet beds. Please use these resources or chat with a WOW customer service team member to make the best personal choice for you and eliminate waste.
There are costs to shipping and creating jobs in the United States as well as putting items in a landfill. We all know the saying: Nothing in life is free. But with BEDGEAR, you will always be able to buy our products at the best price because you are not paying for anyone else’s returns!
Let’s all be responsible to our world by effectively and efficiently managing returns and exchanges. Below are the returns policies for bedgear.com.

Products
BEDGEAR pioneered the launch of PERFORMANCE® bedding in 2009. Our Performance products are engineered to provide you with your personalized fit of sleep products, while enhancing air flow, wicking away moisture and dissipating heat to keep you cool and dry while you sleep – so you can achieve more, in pursuit of everything you love to do, each day!
Pillow Care:
Most of our Performance® Pillows feature a removable, washable cover, making it easy to keep fresh and clean.
- Unzip and remove the cover.
- Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle.
- For best results, we recommend hanging your pillow cover to air dry. However, if you prefer to use a dryer, be sure to tumble dry on low heat only.
- Do not wash the inner pillow fills—these are spot clean only.
- Do not bleach, iron, dry clean, or use fabric softener.
Pillows that do not feature a removable cover should be spot cleaned only.
Adjusting To Your New Pillow
It’s common for your body to take a few nights to adjust to your new pillow before you experience optimal comfort. This adjustment period will soon pass as the pillow works to properly align your head, neck, and spine.
To help reduce any initial odors from manufacturing and shipping, we recommend letting your pillow air out for 12-24 hours before use.
Mattress Care:
Our standard Performance® Mattresses are spot clean only. To maximize the lifespan of your mattress, we highly recommend using a Performance® Mattress Protector to guard against spills, stains, and common allergens.
- Use a clean, damp cloth with mild detergent to clean any soiled areas.
- Air dry only.
Modular Mattresses
Cleaning your mattress has never been easier, thanks to the modular design of select Performance® Mattresses, like the M3. This innovative design allows you to easily disassemble the mattress for deep cleaning.

- Machine wash both covers cold on a gentle cycle (Do not wash inner foam layer).

Our Performance® Pillows are designed to fit your personal body type, sleep position, and sleep concerns. Please use our interactive Pillow ID product selector or contact us to assist in finding you the pillow that’s the best fit for you.
The lifetime of a pillow depends on how often and how long you use it (ex. Number of hours per night, number of nights per week). For optimal performance, we recommend changing your pillows every 12-18 months. If there is any change in your lifestyle, you may need to change your pillows to provide the right level of support and comfort for your body.
Most pillow protectors and pillowcases do not have the same stretch and functionality as our products and will trap heat in your pillow, limiting the benefits of our technologies. We recommend our Dri-Tec® 5.0 Pillow Protector or Dri-Tec® Performance Pillowcase Sets as they are designed to protect your pillow and work with the technology incorporated into all our BEDGEAR Performance® pillows.
All of our pillows are filled to unique specifications to provide maximum performance and comfort. See the product page of the specific pillows you are interested in for complete details.
Our pillows range in height to support different sleep positions and body types. Most of our pillows have a 2" Air-X® ventilated panel. The ventilated panel runs around all four sides of the pillows for maximum airflow. To find the right pillow fit for you, please visit our Interactive Pillow ID® or find a retailer near you.
Thread count is a traditional means of measuring sheeting and generally applies to cotton products only. At BEDGEAR, we understand that thread count can be adapted, especially with cotton blends, so that it no longer purely represents quality – and it certainly doesn’t help you sleep better! Performance® sheets wick away moisture and dissipate heat, while providing ambient air flow for better, deeper sleep. Our Performance® fabrics are engineered to never stick to you, facilitating air circulation without trapping heat, so that you can more easily regulate your body temperature and sleep in greater comfort. Our soft, conforming materials move with you throughout the night, without pull or resistance.
Yes, our mattress protectors are designed to fit mattresses up to 18" high. Our sheets fit mattresses up to 18” deep. All products featuring our Powerband® secure fit & grip work great with power bases!
A Powerband® is a wide-width elastic compression band that wraps around our pillowcases, fitted sheets, crib sheets, and select mattress protectors. It will provide a secure fit and grip on your mattress with no baggy sides or bunching, with the maximum degree of flex and recovery for use with power bases.
