BEDGEAR Flex LSX Adjustable Base: Setup, Features & How to Use It | BEDGEAR

The Flex LSX gives you more control over your sleep position than a standard base can. Head, foot, neck, and lumbar zones all adjust independently; so you're not stuck choosing between head-up and legs-flat. You can dial in exactly what your body needs and save it as a preset for next time.

This guide pulls everything from the Flex LSX owner's manual into one place. Assembly, remote pairing, sync setup, app control, and troubleshooting — all of it. You can also download the full PDF manual below if you want the assembly diagrams alongside the instructions.

Before You Start

Dispose of all packing materials immediately. Plastic bags pose a smothering risk to children and pets. Clear the area of children and pets before operating any moving parts during setup.

How to Set Up the Flex LSX

The Flex LSX sets up two ways: freestanding on its own legs, or placed inside a bed frame on a slat base. Choose the method that matches your setup before you start — the steps diverge early.

Setup Without a Bed Frame

Freestanding Setup — Step by Step
  1. 1
Open and unpack Open the box lid and remove all accessories. Set them aside and verify all parts before discarding any packaging.
  2. 2
Remove the safety clip Pull the red plastic safety clip from the folded foundation. Remove the locking pin by pulling upward, then rotate it 90° counterclockwise to release.
  3. 3
Install the first four legs Using a flipping motion, stand the base upright on the headboard end. Install the four legs there first and tighten each one fully.
  4. 4
Flip and install the remaining legs Flip the foot section out of the box and lay the base flat. Install the final two legs at the foot end and tighten all six completely.
  5. 5
Install the motion sensors Connect each motion sensor to its mounting bracket. Clip the bracket onto the center adjustable legs, then rotate 90° clockwise to lock into position. Connect the two sensor connectors — one on each side of the base.
  6. 6
Attach the mattress retainer bar For BEDGEAR mattresses: insert the flat retainer bar into the securing strap at the bottom of the mattress, then snap it into the retainer mounts. For non-BEDGEAR mattresses: install the bar one side at a time using the standard method.
  7. 7
Make the base flat and connect power Lay the base completely flat. Connect the DC power cord from the control box to the power supply, then plug the AC power cord into a grounded outlet. A surge protector is strongly recommended.
  8. 8
Insert batteries and test Insert AAA batteries into the remote. Test all remote functions before placing your mattress on the base.

Setup Inside a Bed Frame (Slat Base)

Skip the legs entirely for this method. Place the Flex LSX directly onto the slat surface — no leg installation needed. Flip the base flat. Route the DC power cord through the bottom or side of the frame toward your power source. Use the included double-sided tape to secure the motion sensors to the sides of the frame instead of the center legs. From there, the mattress retainer bar installation and power connection follow the same steps as the freestanding method.

Remote Control: Every Button Explained

The Flex LSX ships with one remote that controls all four adjustment zones. Here's what each function does.

Preset Position

Zero G

Raises your legs above your heart in one touch. Reduces lower back pressure and promotes circulation overnight.

Preset Position

Anti-Snore

Gently lifts the head section to open the airway and reduce snoring. No manual adjustment needed.

Preset Position

TV Position

Raises the head to a comfortable viewing angle. Good for reading or anything that keeps you from stacking pillows.

Preset Position

Flat

Returns the base to fully flat in one touch. Always store the base flat when not in use.

Adjustment

Head / Foot / Neck / Lumbar

Use the select buttons to choose a zone, then use the up/down controls to set your position. Each zone adjusts independently.

Massage

Head + Foot Massage

Three intensity levels per zone. Cycle through intensities with the head or foot massage button; press stop to turn both off.

Lighting

Under-Bed LED

Toggles the under-bed lighting on and off. Mood light color and timer settings are available through the BEDGEAR app.

Memory

Programmable Positions

Save two custom positions. Adjust to your preferred angle, hold the LED button for 5 seconds until SAVE appears, then select your slot. Two beeps confirm the save.

Syncing Two Flex LSX Bases

Running two Flex LSX bases in a split-king or similar configuration? You have two options for syncing them: a physical sync cord or a wireless pairing method. Both let you control both foundations simultaneously.

Method 1

Wired Sync (Sync Cord)

  1. Unplug both foundations from power.
  2. Connect the male ends of the sync cord to the female sync plugs on both control boxes.
  3. Plug both foundations back into power.
  4. Check that all cords are secure. Either remote will now operate both foundations at the same time.
Method 2

Wireless Sync

  1. Confirm both remotes are individually paired to their foundations.
  2. Make sure both foundations are fully flat.
  3. Press and hold the sync buttons on both remotes at the same time for 8 seconds until the LCD shows SYNC.
  4. To unsync, repeat the same hold until the LCD shows UNSYNC.

Note: to control two synced bases via the BEDGEAR app, the wired sync cord method is required. The app cannot wirelessly control two independent foundations simultaneously without it.

Need to Re-Pair the Remote?

Unplug the power cord and remove any 9V backup battery from the power supply. Plug the power cord back in. Press and hold the select buttons until the LCD shows PAIR. The display will show PASS and you'll hear an activation sound when the remote is confirmed paired.

Setting Up the BEDGEAR App

The BEDGEAR app gives you phone control over every function on the Flex LSX. It pairs automatically via Bluetooth; no account or extra configuration required.

How to Download and Connect

Search "bedgear" in the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) and install the app. Before opening it, turn on Bluetooth on your phone and confirm the Flex LSX is powered on. Open the app and it finds the base automatically within the 33-foot (10-meter) range.

The app mirrors the physical remote: all four adjustment zones, preset positions, massage controls, under-bed lighting, and mood light color settings are all accessible. From the settings screen, you can also rename the base, view the control box serial number, and access the built-in troubleshooting guide.

Pacemaker Notice

The Flex LSX contains Neodymium magnets that may interfere with pacemakers, ICDs, and other magnetically sensitive medical devices. If you use such a device, consult your physician before using this product. The massage vibration feature may also be falsely interpreted as movement by some pacemakers. Speak with your doctor before using the massage function.

Troubleshooting the Flex LSX

Most issues come down to power, pairing, or a locked remote. Here's how to work through the common ones.

Common Issues and Fixes
Problem What to Check
Remote won't respond Check battery level (icon in upper-right of LCD). Replace if low. If batteries are fine, re-pair the remote using the pairing steps above.
Base won't power on Confirm the DC power cord is fully seated in both the control box and the power supply. Check that the AC cord is plugged into a working grounded outlet. A surge protector is strongly recommended.
Audio system won't pair Restart the power base. Stay within the 26-foot pairing range and avoid pairing through walls. Only one device can be paired at a time — disconnect the current device before adding a new one.
No sound from audio system Check that volume isn't at minimum on the paired device. Confirm the audio kit is properly paired (device name: REMO4.11).
Sync not working between two bases For wired sync: confirm the sync cord is fully connected to both control boxes and both units are powered. For wireless sync: make sure each remote is individually paired first and both bases are fully flat before initiating sync.

If your issue isn't listed above, the BEDGEAR app includes a troubleshooting section in the settings screen. You can also reach BEDGEAR customer service at 631-414-7763.

Frequently Asked Questions

The most common questions about the Flex LSX, answered.

How Do I Set Up the BEDGEAR Flex LSX?

Remove all accessories from the box and set them aside. Install four legs at the headboard end, flip the base flat, and install the remaining two legs at the foot. Connect the motion sensors to the center legs. Attach the mattress retainer bar. Connect the DC power cord to the power supply, plug into a grounded AC outlet (surge protector strongly recommended), insert batteries into the remote, and test all functions before placing your mattress.

How Do I Pair the Flex LSX Remote?

The remote ships already paired. If you need to re-pair, unplug the power cord and remove any 9V backup battery from the power supply. Plug the cord back in. Press and hold the select buttons until the LCD shows PAIR. It will show PASS and you'll hear an activation sound confirming the pairing is complete.

What Does Zero G Do on the Flex LSX?

Zero G is a one-touch preset that elevates your legs above your heart. It reduces pressure on the lower back and supports circulation during sleep. Press the Zero G button and the base moves to that position automatically. It's a solid starting point for anyone dealing with lower back discomfort or swelling in the legs.

Can I Sync Two Flex LSX Bases Together?

Yes. You can sync two Flex LSX bases using the included sync cord (wired) or through wireless pairing. For wired sync, connect the cord between both control boxes with both units unplugged, then plug back in — either remote controls both simultaneously. For wireless sync, pair each remote individually first, bring both bases to flat, then hold the sync buttons on both remotes at the same time for 8 seconds until the LCD shows SYNC. To unsync, repeat the same hold until the display shows UNSYNC.

How Do I Connect the BEDGEAR App to My Flex LSX?

Download the BEDGEAR app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). Turn on Bluetooth on your phone and make sure the Flex LSX is powered on. Open the app and it pairs automatically — no account setup or additional steps required. The effective Bluetooth range is approximately 33 feet (10 meters). Note: controlling two synced bases via the app requires the wired sync cord connection between the two control boxes.

Can I Use the Flex LSX With a Non-BEDGEAR Mattress?

Yes. The flat mattress retainer bar has a dedicated installation method for BEDGEAR mattresses that uses a built-in securing strap on the mattress base. For non-BEDGEAR mattresses, the same retainer bar installs one side at a time using the standard mounting method. Both approaches keep the mattress in place through all adjustment positions.
