Headboard brackets, stabilizer brackets, and spacing connectors are optional and not included; spacing connectors apply to TXL, T, and CKS configurations only. Installing the headboard and stabilizer brackets requires a 1/2 inch (13mm) socket and wrench.
Before You Start
Dispose of all packing materials immediately. Plastic bags pose a smothering risk to children and pets. Clear the area of children and pets before operating any moving parts during setup.
How to Set Up the Flex LSX
The Flex LSX sets up two ways: freestanding on its own legs, or placed inside a bed frame on a slat base. Pick the method that matches your setup before you start, because the steps diverge early.
Setup Without a Bed Frame
Eight steps from box to first test. Work through them in order; the leg installation sequence matters more than it looks.
Freestanding Setup, Step by Step

Open and unpack Open the box lid and remove all accessories. Set them aside and verify every part before discarding any packaging.

Remove the safety clip Pull the red plastic safety clip from the folded foundation. Remove the locking pin by pulling upward, then rotate it 90 degrees counterclockwise to release.

Install the first four legs Using a flipping motion, stand the base upright on the headboard end. Install the four legs there first and tighten each one fully.

Flip and install the remaining legs Flip the foot section out of the box and lay the base flat. Install the final two legs at the foot end and tighten all six completely.

Install the motion sensors Connect each motion sensor to its mounting bracket. Clip the bracket onto the center adjustable legs, then rotate 90 degrees clockwise to lock it in position. Connect the two sensor connectors, one on each side of the base.

Attach the mattress retainer bar For our mattresses, insert the flat retainer bar into the securing strap at the bottom of the mattress, then snap it into the retainer mounts. For other mattresses, install the bar one side at a time using the standard method.

Make the base flat and connect power Lay the base completely flat. Connect the DC power cord from the control box to the power supply, then plug the AC power cord into a grounded outlet. A surge protector is strongly recommended.

Insert batteries and test Insert AAA batteries into the remote. Test all remote functions before placing your mattress on the base.
Setup Inside a Bed Frame
Skip the legs entirely for this method. Place the Flex LSX directly onto the slat surface and flip the base flat. Route the DC power cord through the bottom or side of the frame toward your power source.
Use the included double-sided tape to secure the motion sensors to the sides of the frame instead of the center legs. From there, the retainer bar installation and power connection follow the same steps as the freestanding method.
Remote Control: Every Button Explained
The Flex LSX ships with one remote that controls all four adjustment zones plus massage, lighting, and memory. Here is what each function does.
Zero G
Raises your legs above the level of your heart in one touch. A popular resting position and a common starting point for finding your own.
Anti-Snore
Gently lifts the head section to a slight incline. No manual adjustment needed; one button takes you there and back.
TV Position
Raises the head to a comfortable viewing angle. Handy for reading or anything that would otherwise have you stacking pillows.
Flat
Returns the base to fully flat in one touch. Always store the base flat when it is not in use.
Head, Foot, Neck, Lumbar
Use the select buttons to choose a zone, then the up and down controls to set your position. Each zone adjusts independently.
Head and Foot Massage
Three intensity levels per zone. Cycle through intensities with the head or foot massage button; press stop to turn both off.
Under-Bed LED
Toggles the under-bed lighting on and off. Mood light color and timer settings live in the BEDGEAR app.
Programmable Positions
Save two custom positions. Adjust to your preferred angle, hold the LED button for 5 seconds until SAVE appears, then choose your slot. Two beeps confirm it.
The two memory slots are the feature most people underuse. Once you find an angle that works, saving it means you never hunt for it again.
Syncing Two Flex LSX Bases
Running two Flex LSX bases in a split king or similar configuration? You have two options for syncing them: a physical sync cord or wireless pairing. Both let you control both foundations at once.
Wired Sync
- Unplug both foundations from power.
- Connect the male ends of the sync cord to the female sync plugs on both control boxes.
- Plug both foundations back into power.
- Check that all cords are secure. Either remote now operates both foundations at the same time.
Wireless Sync
- Confirm both remotes are individually paired to their foundations.
- Make sure both foundations are fully flat.
- Press and hold the sync buttons on both remotes at the same time for 8 seconds, until the LCD shows SYNC.
- To unsync, repeat the same hold until the LCD shows UNSYNC.
One catch worth knowing before you choose: controlling two synced bases through the BEDGEAR app requires the wired sync cord. The app cannot drive two independent foundations at once without that physical connection. If you plan to use your phone as the primary control, run the cord.
Need to Re-Pair the Remote?
Unplug the power cord and remove any 9V backup battery from the power supply. Plug the power cord back in, then press and hold the select buttons until the LCD shows PAIR. The display will show PASS and you will hear an activation sound when the remote is confirmed paired.
Setting Up the BEDGEAR App
The app gives you phone control over every function on the Flex LSX. It pairs automatically over Bluetooth, with no account or extra configuration required.
How to Download and Connect
Search for "bedgear" in the App Store or Google Play and install the app. Before opening it, turn on Bluetooth on your phone and confirm the Flex LSX is powered on. Open the app and it finds the base automatically within the 33-foot (10-meter) range.
The app mirrors the physical remote: all four adjustment zones, preset positions, massage controls, under-bed lighting, and mood light colors. From the settings screen you can also rename the base, view the control box serial number, and open the built-in troubleshooting guide.
Pacemaker Notice
The Flex LSX contains Neodymium magnets that may interfere with pacemakers, ICDs, and other magnetically sensitive medical devices. If you use such a device, consult your physician before using this product. The massage vibration feature may also be falsely interpreted as movement by some pacemakers. Speak with your doctor before using the massage function.
Troubleshooting the Flex LSX
Most issues come down to power, pairing, or a locked remote. Work through the table below before reaching for the phone.
